OCIA: Becoming Catholic
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, or OCIA, is the process through which adults learn about the Catholic faith and prepare to enter fully into the life of the Church.

OCIA is especially for those who:
  • Have never been baptized
  • Were baptized in another Christian tradition and are interested in becoming Catholic
  • Were baptized Catholic but have not received First Holy Communion or Confirmation
  • Simply want to learn more about the Catholic faith

Through prayer, study, discussion, and participation in parish life, OCIA helps participants grow in faith and prepare to receive the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and the Holy Eucharist.

Meeting Information
OCIA meets on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 PM in Blessed Sacrament Catholic School's lecture hall. Classes begin each year in September and conclude after Easter.
