Religious Education
Teaching as Jesus Taught, calls upon us to reach out
to many young people, kindergarten through eighth grades, that
attend public and private schools. Our program calls for
approximately 10 volunteers. Each Sunday during the regular school
year, instruction takes place from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM; in total,
about 30 sessions.
The Sadlier Education Series is the main textbook for instruction.
In addition, the students are taught the meaning of stewardship by
using a Sunday collection envelope that indicates their time, talent
and/or treasure for the week.
Seventh graders are beginning their journey to eight grade
Confirmation. Retreats, service projects, along with Sunday
instruction are all part of the program. Second graders are
preparing for First Reconciliation in January and then will continue
to prepare for their First Eucharist in May.
No matter what the grade, there is a always a spot for you in the
Religious Education Program at
Blessed Sacrament Parish.
